“After living and vacationing in North Carolina for many years (both on the shore and in the foothills and mountains) we fell full in love with the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Log Home lifestyle. It was not until after a job transfer to upstate New York that we thought the time was right for us to start looking for our dream log home. After an exhaustive search for the right house on the right acreage we finally realized that the only way to achieve that outcome was to buy land and build ourselves. After closing on a nice lot outside of Boone, NC, our search for the right General Contractor to build our semi-custom Log Home began. After a great amount of research and due diligence we selected Tim Parsons Construction Company to build our Jim Barna Log Home. Given that we were undertaking this project while working and living full time in upstate NY, we were a bit apprehensive about how it would go but it only took one trip down to the job site to check the status of the project (through site clearing and excavation, foundation, basement and main floor floor system construction) that our concerns about contracting with Tim Parsons for this remote build were eliminated. It was obvious to us that fit, form, finish and quality were important aspects of their business model."
"Tim and his son Isaac (Project Superintendent) were extremely responsive and flexible to our needs and wants and made us feel that pleasing us was their primary mission. They were both very accessible and very easy to communicate with and did a great job providing us with weekly summary construction status updates via phone calls, e-mails and extensive picture updates (Isaac is quite the photographer). Our home was completed in late 2013 and we are extremely pleased with the final product. We found Tim and Isaac and their select team of sub contractor "craftsman" to be as picky as us when it came down to doing things right the first time from both the functional and cosmetic perspectives. We also found Tim and Isaac to be completely transparent and trustworthy in all our dealings. They made us feel more like friends and family then clients throughout the entire process."
"Bottom line is we are now the proud owners of a heirloom quality Log Home that our family will enjoy for many years and generations to come. We would no doubt do business again with Tim Parsons Construction and Jim Barna Log Home companies and would recommend them to family and friends without reservation."

"When we decided to build our log home in West Jefferson a few years ago, we went through a lengthy process in deciding who would build our mountain home. We attended several log and home shows in Charlotte and considered many options regarding style and materials. After talking with many builders and after doing a whole bunch of research into log building systems and related processes, we came back to Tim to build for us. In fact, Tim was the very first builder we had met at our first Log and Home Show in Charlotte. We became convinced that the Jim Barna Log System was best for what we wanted. We have been pleased with our decision."
"Tim, and his son Isaac, showed us completed homes and made many useful suggestions that we incorporated into our cabin. They were willing to work with our special projects - such as the bathroom cabinets that we wanted to do ourselves - and made no attempt to steer us where we did not want to go. Further, they were willing to adjust to our requests for changes. For example, we added a huge tree trunk to the great room to cover the wall stiffener. Tim worked closely with local craftsmen and suppliers. This made it very convenient for us to choose such things as kitchen cabinets, granite and flooring."
"Ultimately, our final decision was a matter of personal character. We asked a lot of questions around town and heard nothing but positive comments regarding Tim’s honesty and integrity."

"Our experience with Kenneth T. Parsons Construction, LLC. was outstanding. We are natives of NC and graduates of ASU. Upon graduation, we settled in FL and dreamed for years of building a log home in the mountains of NC. We found the perfect lot and sat on it for years until we decided to build.
We poured over lots of plans and decided to build a traditional log home with a porch and dormers. We researched log packages, visited several models and found that the Parsons offered us the package and the builder, rather than most who sold the packages and only recommended a list of builders. Tim and Isaac spent lots of time showing us homes they had already built and going over all the options available. They were flexible with changes we elected to make to the delivered floor plan.
Although we were absentee home builders, the entire process went well with few hiccups. They always quickly brought any questionable items to our attention in a timely manner. Since completion of the home, we have always been able to rely on Tim and Isaac to quickly answer any questions or handle any necessary repairs.
The final product is better than we could have imagined. Our family, friends, and seasonal renters are always in awe of our "cabin". They don't understand why we call it that because they consider it a comfortable and well built home rather than a small "cabin". We find it a warm, inviting place to spend time relaxing in the mountains with family and friends.
We highly recommend Barna Log Homes and Kenneth T. Parsons Construction, LLC. Should we ever decide to build another log home, they will definitely be building another one for us!!!!"

"In February 2008 I contracted with K.T. Parsons Construction, LLC to complete construction of my log home, which is located in West Jefferson, NC. K.T. Parsons Construction began construction of this home for another party. I acquired the property in an unfinished state. Approximately 50% of the construction work remained in order to complete the home with the design modifications which my wife and I desired."
"K.T. Parsons Construction completed the work to my satisfaction in a timely, workmanlike manner. I am well satisfied with the final product. On several occasions I have requested additional work to further customize the home; these follow-on projects have also been performed to my satisfaction."
